What is Hyperliquid staking?
Hyperliquid runs on delegated proof-of-stake. HYPE holders delegate to a validator, and the active validator set uses that stake to produce and confirm blocks. Delegating doesn't transfer custody; it assigns voting weight and reward rights to the chosen validator. Rewards accrue every minute, distribute daily, and auto-compound through redelegation. The reward rate is inversely proportional to the square root of total HYPE staked network-wide, so it moves as total stake changes. Delegations carry a 1-day lockup before they can be adjusted, and withdrawing to a spot balance enters a 7-day network-wide unstaking queue, capped at 5 pending withdrawals per address.
